Oliver

Mimi and Ben adopted Oliver 13 years ago, and he’s lived on a farm ever since. Sometimes Oliver helps on the farm by chasing a mouse, but more often you can find him curled up in a warm, dry spot. As far as we can tell, Oliver doesn’t have a favorite flower, but he might like Cosmos, since we have found him laying on top of them year after year.

Mimi

Mimi has grown vegetables and flowers for over 15 years, selling to CSA members, farmers market customers, and restaurants. After seasons of focusing mainly on vegetables, her attention has turned to flowers, and she has been the organizer and artist behind growing and arranging the new varieties we have brought to the farm over the last few years. This year will be her fourth year growing exclusively flowers. Her favorite flowers to harvest are tulips.

Ben

Ben has been farming for over 10 years, and met Mimi and Oliver back in 2010 on another local farm. Along with helping out at Brown Dog, he is the Farm Manager at Alaska Pacific University’s Spring Creek Farm in Palmer. You’ll see Ben at market on Saturdays, and he spends a lot of his time on the farm contributing to infrastructure projects like the fence, greenhouse, high tunnels, or walk-in cooler. His favorite flower is ranunculus.
